We understand that children’s learning is best supported through relationships, and that children learn best, from those with whom they have close relationships. We acknowledge that families are children’s first teachers, and primary influence on children’s learning and development.
We acknowledge that families can share invaluable information about their child’s strengths, capabilities, interests and challenges. For this reason, partnerships with families is of paramount importance to us. Just as each child and family is unique, with different values and priorities, each partnership will also be unique. Our aim is to build open, comfortable and strong links between the child’s home, family and the kindergarten.
Our kindergarten teachers actively encourage communications and relationships with parents in a variety of ways. For example:
- Daily Diary
Documentation of children’s learning
- Newsletters
- Emails
- Phone calls
- Meetings
- Informal discussions
- Sharing Teaching and Learning Program
- Parent Information Nights
- Social Events
- Parent Roster
- Working Bees
- Committee Membership
